As for replacement parts…
Do you know what you actually still have?
Do you know where it is?

And all of this, no matter how many people tell you they do periodic inventory checks—or that it’s never the right time to do them.
Because the underlying question is simple: Does anyone know—or does anyone care—what happens to a replacement part once its purchase has been processed and it has arrived “at the facility”?
Raw materials, yes; replacement parts… we’ll see
Why is there so little investment in spare parts management compared to raw materials management?
It is true that raw materials allow us to manufacture “what we have sold.”
