Investing in visibility has always been a priority<\/strong><\/h2>

Investing in advertising, in a website with \u201cglitz and glamour,\u201d in SEO strategies to generate more leads<\/em>, in a \u201cfully equipped\u201d room for hosting visitors, and in participating in zebra insemination projects in Senegal\u2014even though there aren\u2019t any\u2026 yet!!\u2014and then being able to talk about it\u2014has always been among his \u201cextra-budgetary\u201d priorities.<\/p>

Building a reputation in the market\u2014so that people know who we are, see how well we work, recognize our commitment to fulfilling our agreements, and learn about our \u201csuccess stories\u201d\u2014is also part of their mission.<\/p>

In short, we are expected to meet the same standard that was once imposed on Caesar\u2019s wife: that \u201caside from being virtuous, she must appear to be so\u201d\u2014and not necessarily in that order.<\/p>

When \u201cfanfare\u201d covers up the scandals<\/strong><\/h2>

Although there are also those who use all this \u201cfanfare\u201d to embellish things, overpromise, and hide their \u201cshortcomings,\u201d rather than tackling the root causes of the problems.<\/p>

And I\u2019m not judging or saying that it\u2019s not the right way to do things\u2014and that we shouldn\u2019t continue to firmly and actively support it\u2014because everyone invests in whatever they find most interesting, profitable, and\/or enjoyable. It would be the last thing I\u2019d want to do to come across as a \u201cpreachy\u201d person right now. <\/p>

Check before taking something for granted<\/strong><\/h2>

My advice, as with any other initiative, is to first establish a statistical \u201cmeasurement\u201d<\/strong> mechanism so that we can evaluate:<\/p>

  • its soothing effect,<\/li>
  • its positive impact,<\/li>
  • and, of course, the return on investment.<\/li><\/ul>

    This is something that isn’t always easy to measure and that, all too often, is accepted as valid based on a feeling, a hunch, or intuition.<\/p>

    And, obviously, this innate and pervasive impulse does not go unnoticed by those who offer this type of \u201cgloss,\u201d aware that their target audience, out of conviction, is willing to spend even a little \u201cextra\u201d on it, without much hesitation, as long as they feel \u201ccherished.\u201d<\/p>

    Stopping losing money is also making money<\/strong><\/h2>

    The problem is that we don’t always realize that \u201cstopping losing money\u201d is also another way of \u201cmaking money.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>

    And to do that, we also need to \u201cinvest\u201d in tools that may be \u201cclunky\u201d but that make it easier for us to manage them and help minimize these losses.<\/p>

    Instead of countering it with \u201cmore\u201d of the same or settling for \u201cBand-Aids\u201d or \u201cpoultices.\u201d<\/p>

    Analyze the causes, not just cover up the consequences<\/strong><\/h2>

    In addition to making a serious commitment to \u201cprevention\u201d to forestall \u201cmisfortunes,\u201d we must focus on analyzing the CAUSES<\/strong> and eliminating them.<\/p>

    Only in this way can we avoid:<\/p>

    • recurring malfunctions,<\/li>
    • recurring anomalies,<\/li>
    • continuous deviations,<\/li>
    • “severe” economic impacts.<\/li><\/ul>

      Something that, on the other hand, is easy to measure.<\/p>

      The Metaphor of the Blood Transfusion<\/strong><\/h2>

      A blood transfusion can treat anemia.<\/p>

      But by the third time, we need to figure out what’s causing it.<\/p>

      And to do that, we also need to invest there, Pedr\u00edn.<\/p>

      Clothes matter, but so does what’s underneath<\/strong><\/h2>

      A nice suit is important, but so is taking care of what you wear and what it hides.<\/p>
