First, record the data accurately. Then analyze it.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Therefore, it is vital to ensure, first and foremost, that our data is recorded.<\/p>\n\n

And in that regard, it doesn’t really matter: the software or platform they use to register, any \u201cpremium\u201d training or instruction that may have been provided to the registrants, or the follow-up reports we hope to obtain.<\/p>\n\n

What’s needed is COMMITMENT to the process. And not just involvement. <\/p>\n\n

Commitment from the very beginning and over time<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

That commitment must be present both during the initial implementation phase and, thereafter, over time.<\/p>\n\n

No letting up.<\/p>\n\n

This applies to both the registrar and the person in charge. Because the person in charge cannot let their guard down at the first sign of trouble when it comes to monitoring and control. <\/p>\n\n

So\u2026 why on earth do we register?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Regularly recording data is pointless if we cannot subsequently analyze it statistically.<\/p>\n\n

But it doesn’t make sense either if that data is \u201ccrap.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

Maybe it will help justify something.<\/p>\n\n

But, really, it’s a waste of time!!!!<\/p>\n\n

What should we record?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

EVERYTHING:<\/strong> By \u201cEVERYTHING,\u201d we mean whatever we want to record. And that\u2019s up to us. However, whenever any part of this EVERYTHING occurs, we must record it\u2014not just whenever we feel like it. <\/p>\n\n

USEFUL:<\/strong> We record only useful information\u2014information that can be analyzed statistically at a later date or is simply descriptive. Preferably, this information should not be repetitive or already present in other systems. <\/p>\n\n

OK:<\/strong> What is recorded must ALWAYS reflect reality. And we must ALWAYS record the same situation in the same way. If something is WHITE, we must always record it as WHITE. And not, depending on the time of day or our mood that day, as: IVORY, SMOKE, or BONE. <\/p>\n\n

IN FULL:<\/strong> We must always record the same data for the same situation. Because if we record something different each time, we won’t be able to compare, interpret, or draw any conclusions with even a modicum of reliability. <\/p>\n\n

It’s not always easy to register properly<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

It’s not easy to guarantee this, especially if the recording is done manually.<\/p>\n\n

We might think, then, that not \u201cjust anyone\u201d is capable of registering.<\/p>\n\n

Well, yeah, that’s right, buddy!!!<\/p>\n\n

Although that doesn’t mean I can’t participate.<\/p>\n\n

Quite simply, an \u201cexpert\u201d is needed to validate the entry before it is finalized and approved. And it doesn\u2019t have to be the CEO. <\/p>\n\n

The Role of the Expert<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

That expert must have been involved in setting up the registry.<\/p>\n\n

You should know: what we do, why we do it this way, what benefits we expect to gain from it, and when data can truly be considered reliable.<\/p>\n\n

Because validation doesn’t mean mistrust.<\/p>\n\n

Validation means ensuring that what we are about to analyze makes sense.<\/p>\n\n

When a KPI Smells Off<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Furthermore, since things will inevitably slip through the cracks\u2014because our day-to-day work demands more of us than the records themselves, which often just add more and more details\u2014whenever we see \u201csuspicious\u201d results for a KPI, we\u2019ll need to investigate.<\/p>\n\n

If something seems off, we\u2019ll need to determine whether it\u2019s: a one-time data entry issue, a widespread data entry issue, a misinterpretation of the data, or an actual deviation that we need to address. And, if we identify the problem, we\u2019ll need to correct it. <\/p>\n\n

Escaping the \u201cshit\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

It’s not overmanagement.<\/p>\n\n

It’s not a waste of time.<\/p>\n\n
